Grayslake Central completes perfect FVC campaign

Grayslake Central's boys basketball team capped an undefeated season in the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division by easily defeating visiting Woodstock North 84-28 on Friday night.

The Rams (20-6) finished 12-0 in the division. They have won 14 games in a row.

Josh Rappaport led scoring with 16 points, 10 of which he put on the board in the Rams' 33-point first quarter. Darius Dacanay added 11 points.

Grant 70, Wauconda 69 (3 OT): Both Bulldog teams fought through three overtimes, but Grant came through victorious in the North Suburban Prairie match.

Jerry Gaylor scored a career-high 32 points for Grant (8-15, 5-6). Shane Richardson added 12 points.

For Wauconda (6-19, 1-10), its leading scorer was Tyler Gick, who scored a season-high 24 points. Kyle Ryan contributed 21 points, including five 3-pointers.

Lakes 59, Round Lake 46: The Eagles handed the Panthers their 18th consecutive loss in the North Suburban Prairie match.

John Androus scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Lakes (10-17, 7-4). Deondre Hudson added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Also scoring double digits for the Eagles were Tanner Blain with 11 points and Tyler Swindle, who added 10.

Juddon Carter contributed a season-high 26 points, including five 3-pointers for Round Lake (2-23, 2-10).

Mundelein 77, Vernon Hills 68: Three Mundelein players scored in double digits to give the Mustangs the victory and improve their record to 18-12.

The Mustangs' Ben Brust scored 26 points. Robert Knar added 23 points, including five 3-pointers, and Ryan Sawvell scored 15 points.

DaVaris Daniels dominated scoring for the Cougars, earning 35 points. Chris Morgan added 15 points.

North Chicago 73, Antioch 43: The visiting Warhawks completed their 12-0 run through the North Suburban Prairie Division and will host Zion-Benton in the conference championship game Wednesday night.

Aaron Simpson scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for North Chicago (17-5, 12-0).

Antioch (9-17, 5-6) plays Lakes in the two teams' divisional finale Monday night.
