Honoring the best, all-Aguilar style

February means all-area basketball teams are all but here. So let's tune up, all right?

Here are my annual Lake County teams, some of which are more serious than others.

Note that teams include only high schools from the Daily Herald's Lake County coverage area. So you won't see the name of Waukegan's Illinois-bound Jereme Richmond, who would be All-Senior, All-Dunk and All-Rebounding. Nor will you see names such as Deerfield's Wisconsin-bound Duje Dukan (All-Senior, All-Name), Zion-Benton's Ohio State-bound Lenzelle Smith (All-Senior, All-Dunk), North Chicago brothers Michael (All-Defense) and Aaron (All-Sophomore) Simpson, Lake Forest's Mary Striedl (All-Sophomore), Zion-Benton's Juanita Robinson (All-Junior) and Highland Park's Lena Munzer (All-Freshman).
