Dec. 18

Open Badminton: 7-11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, Grayslake Park District Rec Center, 240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake. Last scheduled day of the ongoing program. Participants play recreational matches; all levels of players welcome. Wear court shoes and comfortable clothing. Schedule subject to change. Dec. 21

Holiday Sports Camp: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Dec. 21-24 for grades 1-2; Dec. 28-31 grades 3-5, Sachs Recreation Center, 455 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield. Boys and girls will play a wide variety of competitive sports, including soccer, kickball, Wiffle ball and basketball, with a break for lunch and time spent swimming in the indoor pool. Events include: bowling on Dec. 21 ($6 for two games and shoes); roller skating on Dec. 22 ($7 for pizza and soda) and a showing of "A Christmas Carol" at the Marriott Theatre on Dec. 23 ($10 for tickets). Little Hoopsters Basketball: Register by Saturday, Dec. 26; league will meet Saturdays, Jan. 9 to Feb. 27, Woodview School, 340 N Alleghany Road, Grayslake; or Prairieview School, 103 E. Sports Education Holiday Camp: 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Wednesday, Dec. 28-30, Highland Park Hospital Health and Fitness Center, 1501 Busch Parkway, Buffalo Grove. Nehara Hadassah Couples Bowling League: 8 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of every month beginning in August at Lakeside Lanes, 900 S. Lake, Mundelein. This league goes from August to May with a $25 payment every month per couple.
