Dec. 9
Holiday Housewalk: 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Riverside Foundation Auxiliary will host its annual Holiday Housewalk with the theme "Take A Walk Down Candy Cane Lane." The tour showcases four area homes decorated for the holidays. Following the tour, attendees are invited to gather at the Lincolnshire Swim Club for dessert and beverages, a holiday boutique, and a raffle of gift baskets. The Holiday Housewalk is a fundraiser benefiting Riverside Foundation. Tickets are $35 per person; raffle tickets are $2 each. Reservations are required; to reserve tickets, mail a $35 check, payable to Riverside Foundation Auxiliary, to Peggy Gaier, 304 Whitmore Lane, Lake Forest, IL 60045. Cookie Walk/Living Nativity: Bethel Lutheran Church, 3839 W. Frontage Road, Palatine, will sponsor two events on Saturday Dec. 12. It Can Be Done: Mondays and Tuesdays, Francesca's Intimo, 293 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Francesca's Intimo has agreed to donate 15 percent of patrons' bills to the nonprofit organization It Can Be Done! on Mondays and Tuesdays if the customer mentions the organization to a restaurant employee. The proceeds will benefit the purchasing of a drill to construct wells throughout the 12 villages of Uru on Mount Kilimanjaro, providing the 30,000 people living there with freshwater. Palatine Jaycees Christmas tree sale: 6-9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturdays; and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 20, Aquatic Center parking lot, on Palatine Road, just west of Northwest Highway, behind Walgreens.
