Aug. 6

Baseball 15U and 16U Tryouts: 6 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 6 and 13, Drive Performance, 1543 Abbott Drive, Wheeling. Drive Performance will manage Summer Baseball Teams at the 15- and 16-year-old levels. To register, call (847) 229-1009.

Birdie Buddies: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 Grayslake Golf Course. Volunteers from the community will pair with Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County special needs participants for a nine-hole game. Volunteers golf for free. Dinner is included. Angels in the Fairway: Registration at 6 and 10 a.m. for shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. respectively, Friday, Aug. 7, Grand Geneva, 7036 Grand Geneva Way, Lake Geneva, Wis. Joey's Angels, a chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation, will hold its 13th Annual "Angels In The Fairway" golf outing fundraiser, which includes a silent auction and dinner. Aug. 8

GCHS Cheerleaders car wash: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, Grayslake Fire Station, 160 Hawley St., Grayslake. The Grayslake Central High School Cheerleaders will hold a car wash to raise funds for their trip to participate at the Liberty in Memphis, Tenn., in January. A donation of $5 per car is requested.

GCHS Cheerleaders fundraiser: 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, Mitch's Chicago Style Grill, 116 South Route 83, Grayslake. A silent auction, raffles, and games to raise funds for the Grayslake Central High School Cheerleaders to participate at the Liberty in Memphis, Tenn., in January. Portion of food sales will also go to the girls.

Nehara Hadassah Couples Bowling League: 8 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of every month beginning in August at Lakeside Lanes, 900 S. Lake, Mundelein. This league goes from August to May with a $25 payment every month per couple. Adult Fall Softball Leagues: Times vary, beginning the week of Aug. 26, Alleghany Park and/or the Aquatic Softball Field, Grayslake. Adults 18 and up can sign up to be part of an eight-week softball season. Coed teams will play Fridays and men's teams will play Wednesdays.
