Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.

June 24

Annie's Attic: 4 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June, 27 St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington. On Thursday, admission will be $5 (children 12 and under free). Admission will be free Friday and Saturday. Friday will feature a 50 percent off sale starting at 5 p.m. in selected areas. Auction, Appetizers and More: 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 26, Deerfield Golf Club, 1201 Saunders, Riverwoods. A donation of $20 per person includes appetizers, beverages and desserts. There will be a silent auction and raffles. All proceeds will be divided equally between Deerfield District 109 Education Foundation and Deerfield Park District, and will support projects including scholarships; the purchase of recycling containers for area park and school locations; grants for pilot education programs; and continuation of funding to support "Deerfield's Most Accessible Playground." Marquitta Geary Fundraiser: 5 p.m. Sunday, June 28, McHenry VFW, 3002 W. Route 120, McHenry. A fundraiser for Marquitta Geary, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. There will be a pasta dinner from 5-7 p.m. and dancing from 7-10 p.m. with a silent auction, raffles and a dessert bake sale. Art in the Town Square Park: noon-5 p.m. Sunday June 28, Town Square Park, Palatine. Artisans will be located throughout the park and classical string musicians will perform in the gazebo. Free. Max Schewitz Foundation event: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, Wildlife Discovery Center, 1401 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest. The $10 admission ($30 for a family) includes entrance to all exhibits, hands-on contact with a variety of reptiles, face painting, games, and crafts to take home. The event helps support the Max Schewitz Foundation, which works to help prevent the death of young adults due to sudden cardiac events and to protect threatened reptile species (a passion of Max Schewitz's). It Can Be Done: Mondays and Tuesdays, Francesca's Intimo, 293 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Francesca's Intimo has agreed to donate 15 percent of patrons' bills to the nonprofit organization It Can Be Done! on Mondays and Tuesdays if the customer mentions the organization to a restaurant employee. The proceeds will benefit the purchasing of a drill to construct wells throughout the 12 villages of Uru on Mount Kilimanjaro, providing the 30,000 people living there with freshwater.
