Mysliwiec leads Antioch in NSC Prairie finale

Antioch's softball team clinched the North Suburban Prairie championship last week, but that didn't stop the Sequoits from finishing divisional play with a bang Tuesday.

Antioch pounded visiting Lakes 17-0 in five innings, collecting 19 hits.

Winning pitcher Ashley Mysliwiec led the offensive charge by going 4-for-4 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI, while Antioch (27-2, 11-) got home runs from Allie Anttila and Olivia Duehr. Duehr (4 RBI) and Lauren Moore (double) each had 3 hits. Samie Seamon was 2-for-2 with 3 RBI and Cat Dinklenburg went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. Anttila also had 3 RBI. Mysliwiec allowed 5 singles, including 2 to Nicole Speck.

Warren 8, Mundelein 0: Alex Booker went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI, and Kaiti McKeon was 2-for-2, as the Blue Devils wrapped up North Suburban Lake action with a win.

Sarah Clauser added a double, RBI and 2 runs scored for Warren (15-16, 9-3), which finished in second place, a game back of Lake Zurich. Sam Berrios pitched a complete-game 3-hitter with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Mundelein finished 4-8 in the division.

Grant 3, Vernon Hills 0: Rachel DePouw fired a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts, as the Bulldogs captured the North Suburban Prairie finale.

DePouw and Morgan Liles (3-for-3) had doubles and C.J. Hill added a pair of singles for Grant, which finished third in the division with an 8-4 record.

Vernon Hills (15-7) finished 6-6 in the division. Anna Christensen had a double for the Cougars. Sara Doerhoefer struck out 10 in suffering the loss.

Wauconda 10, Round Lake 0: Alexis Lopez was 3-for-2 with a triple and 3 runs scored, as the Bulldogs wrapped up second place in the North Suburban Prairie.

Kayla Stos and Kathie Mata each added 2 hits for Wauconda (21-7, 9-3). Brittany Ehmann pitched a 5-inning 2-hitter with 6 strikeouts.

Round Lake finished 2-10 in the division.

Grayslake North 6, Waukegan 3: Winning pitcher Carly Borders struck out 14, while Brooke Tracy (2-for-4) and Kristi Gandy (2-for-3, 2 RBI) led the offense.

The Knights also got a single and 2 RBI from Mindy Runge.

Huntley 16, Grayslake Central 1: The Rams had only 4 hits in the Fox Valley Fox game.
