Wauconda rolls past Lakes

Wauconda 11, Lakes 2: Wauconda jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead and never looked back.

The Bulldogs got a home run from Cara Nance and a double from Stephanie Olson. Nance went 2-for-2 on the game, as did Kate Martino.

Winning pitcher Kayla Stos went the distance and recorded 5 strikeouts.

Stevenson 13, Lake Forest 2: Allison Micucci had a busy day.

The Stevenson pitcher got the win and was also a winner at the plate. She went 4-for-4 including 2 doubles. She also drove in 4 runs.

Genny Duffy added a triple for the Patriots, who improve to 13-7. She went 2-for-3 and drove in 3 runs. Amanda Jaegers went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and Jordan Willis also added 2 hits.

Lake Zurich 1, Carmel 0: At the 11th hour, Lake Zurich came out on top, scoring in the bottom of the 11th.

Paige Goldberg scored the winning run and went 2-for-4 on the day.

Pitcher Megan Mattera got the win for the Bears. She went the distance and racked up 14 strikeouts to move her record to 13-4.

Vernon Hills 11, Round Lake 0: Vernon Hills jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and just kept adding to it.

Megan Kubacki went 2-for-3 on the day and drove in 2 runs. Anna Christensen drove in 3 runs and Alison Roberts drove 2 runs for the Cougars, who improve to 11-4 overall.

Pitcher Emily Evanson got the win for Vernon Hills. She went the distance and allowed just 1 walk.

Warren 6, Libertyville 2: Pitcher Sam Berrios went the distance and rolled up 7 strikeouts and allowed no walks to lead the Blue Devils to the North Suburban Lake Division victory.

Offensively, Alex Booker led the way with a 3-for-4 performance. Kayla Hurd added 2 hits, including a home run while Lindsay Horwitz, Teja Bloom and Stephanie Youngman also finished with 2 hits.

Huntley 12, Grayslake Central 2: Grayslake Central got out-hit 10-3 and had 4 errors, compared to none for Huntley.

Abbie Goetsch provided a highlight for the Rams by hitting a double.

Johnsburg 3, Grayslake North 0: Despite 15 strikeouts from Samantha Myers, Grayslake North took the loss. Johnsburg scored all 3 runs in the third inning.
