Spartans' streak hits 15

Taylor Ronchetto struck out 14 to lead St. Francis (17-2, 6-0 Suburban Catholic Conference) to its 15th straight win, 3-1 against Marian Central on Wednesday. Paige Davis went 2-for-3, doubling in the game's first run in the sixth and scoring on Kelsey Fabianski's RBI single.

Montini 12, Driscoll 0: Lara Mangialardi went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and Ashley Turacek 3-for-3 with 3 RBI for the Broncos (10-4, 5-2 Suburban Catholic Conference), who scored 8 runs in the third.

Naperville Central 3, WW South 2: Megan Silke singled in Erin Graham in the bottom of the eighth for the Redhawks (13-4, 3-2 DuPage Valley Conference). Graham had doubled leading off. Natalie Wunderlich (9-3) struck out 10 for Naperville Central. WW South (9-11, 2-3) had tied the game in the sixth on Krysta Watts' RBI single.

West Chicago 3, Wheaton North 0: Mary Connolly (12-1) fired her second shutout in three days for the Wildcats (17-3, 4-1 DuPage Valley Conference). In other DVC action, Glenbard North's Hannah Santora and West Aurora's Stephanie Becker combined for 25 strikeouts in a 0-0 game called because of darkness in the 12th.

Glenbard West 11, York 5: Jayme Hefler went 4-for-4 and scored 3 runs and Briana Wyatt went 3-for-4 with a double and triple for the Hilltoppers (11-7, 4-0 West Suburban Silver). Gina Knutson went 3-for-4 for York.

Benet 5, Fenwick 0: Claire Geyer's 2-run single highlighted a 5-run second for the Redwings (15-3, 7-0 East Suburban Catholic Conference). Meghan Eastman (11-3) struck out eight.

Downers Grove South 6, Morton 4: Brooke Andresen's 3-run homer in the fourth snapped a 3-3 tie for the Mustangs (14-2, 5-0 West Suburban Gold), who handed Morton (15-3, 4-1) its first conference loss.

Westmont 20, Fenton 19: Lauren Stanek hit for the cycle and drove in 7 runs for the Bison (4-10), but Westmont won the game with a 6-run seventh.

Wheaton Academy 6-1, Luther North 0-3: Freshman Kim Olson (2-4) threw her second no-hitter of the week in the first game for the Warriors (6-8, 4-4 Private School League).

Timothy Christian 4, Aurora Christian 0: Janna Strodtman (8-8) struck out seven in a 4-hitter for the Trojans (9-8, 5-0 Private School League).

Coal City 7, Lisle 0: Kirsten Verdun struck out 13 in no-hitting the Lions (13-8, 4-4 Interstate Eight Conference).
