Berrios pitches Warren to 'W'

Sam Berrios beared down.

The senior struck out 13 and allowed just 3 hits, as Warren's softball team overcame a 1-0 deficit after one inning to defeat host Waukegan 3-1 at Dugdale Park on Friday night.

Lindsay Horwitz led Warren (6-9) offensively, going 3-for-4. The Blue Devils also got contributions from Kaiti McKeon (double, 2 runs scored), Alex Booker (RBI single), Nikki Ponticelli (RBI) and Shelby Luna (RBI single).

Stevenson 7, Carmel 3: Allison Micucci went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI, as the Patriots won the nonconference game.

Annelise Docel was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Stevenson (7-6), while Katie Loerch went the distance in the circle for the win.

Carmel got doubles from Sally Snarski and Meg Grady.

Grant 2, Wauconda 1: Brie Brugioni pitched the Bulldogs to the North Suburban Prairie Division win.

Grant (5-9, 1-2) scored a pair of unearned runs in the third to take a 2-0 lead.

Johnsburg 6, Grayslake North 3: Kristina Gandy had 8 strikeouts for the Knights.

Huntley 7, Grayslake Central 2: The visiting Red Raiders had 10 hits, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the third.
