Antioch tops Libertyville; Pats edge Wauconda in 8

Antioch's softball team made it three wins in two days.

A day after posting North Suburban Prairie wins over Wauconda and Round Lake, the Sequoits knocked off Libertyville 5-0 in a conference crossover Thursday to remain undefeated.

Samie Seamon went 3-for-4 with a homer, double and 3 RBI, while Ashley Mysliwiec pitched a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts, as Antioch improved to 13-0.

Cat Dinklenburg was 2-for-3 for the Sequoits, and Olivia Duehr contributed a double.

Stevenson 1, Grant 0: Amanda Jaegers' RBI single with two out in the bottom of the eighth scored Alyssa Vechiola, as the Patriots pulled out the North Suburban crossover.

Vechiola had reached on a bunt single. Allison Micucci earned the win, striking out seven and not walking a batter, as she helped Stevenson even its record at 6-6.

Brie Brugioni had 9 strikeouts for Grant (4-9). C.J. Hill ripped a double.

Vernon Hills 3, Zion-Benton 2: Megan Meline pitched 5 2/3 innings of no-hit relief and drove in what turned out to be the winning run in the North Suburban crossover.

Cougars third baseman Megan Kubacki played great defensively and also went 2-for-4 at the plate. Paige Kahalnik (double) and Meline also had 2 hits apiece for Vernon Hills (7-3).

Wauconda 4, Warren 3: The Bulldogs scored the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth to eke out the North Suburban crossover.

Wauconda (11-4) got a 2-run double from Stephanie Olson and an RBI double from Cara Nance, while Kayla Stos improved to 6-1. Brittany Ehmann also had a double for the Bulldogs.

Warren (5-9) saw Lindsay Horwitz go 2-for-2 with 2 stolen bases. Illinois-bound junior Alex Booker, who's been out all season while recovering from knee surgery, had a double and an RBI. Sarah Clauser had a hit and 2 RBI.

Kayla Hurd suffered the loss, despite striking out 11.

Lake Zurich 12, Round Lake 0: Tabbetha Bohac fired a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the North Suburban crossover.

Megan Mattera was 2-for-2 with 2 triples and 2 RBI, as Lake Zurich improved to 13-4. Paige Goldberg (stolen base, RBI) and Erin Sweeney (3 runs, 2 stolen bases, RBI) also had 2 hits apiece. Coryn Schmit doubled.

CL Central 2, Grayslake Central 1: Shannon Sarillo had a double and an RBI for the Rams in the Fox Valley Fox game. Claire Brennan struck out eight in suffering the hard-luck loss.

Huntley 6, Grayslake North 1: Kristina Gandy went 2-for-3 for the Knights in their Fox Valley Fox loss. Samantha Myers took the loss, despite posting 8 strikeouts.
