Friends of the Ela Library spring luncheon: 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, Twin Orchard Country Club, 22353 N Old McHenry Road, Long Grove. The public is invited to attend. Mardi Gras Gala: 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 East Main St., St. Charles. Fox River Country Day School's "Bids and Beads Mardi Gras Gala" annual auction fundraiser will include dinner and silent and live auction events. Tickets are $75 per person, or $130 per couple. 31 Cent Scoop Night: Wednesday, April 29, Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlors. Baskin-Robbins will make a donation to the National Volunteer Fire Council; in addition customers at participating locations will be able to buy a small ice cream scoop for 31 cents, and local fire departments will be invited to the event to collect donations. Fundraiser dinner: 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, Wauconda High School, 555 North Main St., Wauconda. Fundraiser to help a local rescue center for dogs. Clearbrook Jelly Belly Days: Volunteers are being sought to work various shifts between 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16, at intersections throughout Chicago and the suburbs during Clearbrook's Jelly Belly Days. It Can Be Done: Mondays and Tuesdays, Francesca's Intimo, 293 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Francesca's Intimo has agreed to donate 15 percent of patrons' bills to the nonprofit organization It Can Be Done! on Mondays and Tuesdays if the customer mentions the organization to a restaurant employee. The proceeds will benefit the purchasing of a drill to construct wells throughout the 12 villages of Uru on Mount Kilimanjaro, providing the 30,000 people living there with freshwater.
