Parent panel on partying

A panel on "Parents, Teens, Parties and the Law" will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St., Lombard. The program is free and open to area parents. The panel will include DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett; judges Blanche Fawell and Jane Milton; Linda Lewaniak, clinical director of Addiction Medicine at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital; Linda Oberg, Glenbard West assistant principal for athletics; Binita Donohue, Glenbard East social worker; Kathleen McNamara, Carol Stream police social worker; Pedro Castro, a Carol Stream police officer; school resource officers George Pappas, Mike Summerville and Manny Camuy; and a Glenbard parent with a tragic story to share. Legislative business lunch

The Addison, Bloomingdale and Roselle chambers of commerce will sponsor a legislative update featuring Congressman Peter Roskam and State Rep. Franco Coladipietro at 7:30 a.m. May 1 at Chicago-Hilton Indian Lakes Resort, 250 W. Schick Road, Bloomingdale. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for others. Topics will include what effect the stimulus package will have on small business, how the package will be distributed in Illinois and why you need to be interested in the "Card Check" proposal. Donate your books

Friends of the Addison Public Library will sponsor a book sale April 18-19 at the library, 4 Friendship Plaza. The group will collect book donations through April 15. Textbooks, computer books published before 2004, Reader's Digest condensed books, encyclopedias, magazines or materials in poor condition will not be accepted.

Driscoll fundraisers continue

Poww Entertainment Pro wrestling will sponsor matches to help raise money to prevent Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison from closing. Matches start at 8 p.m. April 17 at Driscoll, 555 N.
