Libertyville's softball team found itself trailing on a pair of occasions Tuesday.

The Wildcats were unfazed, however.

Schick scored twice in helping make a winner of Mandy Vogg. Libertyville (2-3) was down 2-0 after one inning and 4-3 entering the bottom of the fourth, when the Wildcats scored 5 runs to take the lead for good.

Carmel 4, Lakes 1: Rachel Tack pitched a 3-hitter, striking out eight, as the Corsairs won the nonconference game.

The lone run Lakes scored was unearned, meaning Tack has not allowed an earned run in 28 innings this season.

Jennifer Ignoffo went 2-for-3 for Lakes (3-3).

Warren 1, Lake Zurich 0: Sam Berrios earned the win, and Emma Zupec drove in the game's only run, as the Blue Devils (3-6) won the North Suburban Lake Division opener by edging the defending conference champion.

Each team had only 2 hits.

Berrios struck out eight in going the distance in the circle. Kathleen Trychta scored on Zupec's single in the second inning, after reaching on a bunt hit and advancing to second on a passed ball.

Lake Zurich sophomore Megan Mattera pitched a complete game, striking out six and not walking a batter.

Corn Schmit and Ella Aslan had the only hits for the Bears.

McHenry 5, Wauconda 4: Cara Nance (double) and Stephanie Olson both went 2-for-4, as the Bulldogs fell to 5-2.

McHenry pitcher Sarah Boyer had 13 strikeouts.

Antioch 12, Grant 0: The Sequoits jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Lauren Moore and a run-scoring single by Olivia Duehr, and never looked back.

Stevenson 13, Zion-Benton 12: In a wild one in Zion, Nicole Duda singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, as the Patriots prevailed in the North Suburban Lake Division opener.

Allison Micucci, who had drawn a two-out walk and advanced to second base on a passed ball, scored the winning run.

Leadoff hitter Ashley Niedermayer was a catalyst for the Patriots, going 3-for-5 with 2 RBI. Stevenson (2-3) also got offensive contributions from Rebekah Ozga (2-for-5, 2 runs), Genny Duffy (2-for-5, 2 RBI) and Duda (2-for-5, 2 RBI). Annelise Docel had a double.
