Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.
March 13

A Night For Renee: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, Meridian Banquets, 1701 W. Algonquin Road, Rolling Meadows. Fundraiser for WINGS, an organization supporting homeless and abused women. The event will feature music, dancing, band, live entertainers, appetizers, raffles and a cash bar. Tickets are $30 in advance $45 at the door. St. Baldrick's Foundation: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, Mickey Finn's Brewery, 412 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. Men, women and children will shave their heads to show solidarity to children with cancer and to raise money for childhood cancer research. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley gala: Saturday, March 14, Geimer's Greenhouse, 2727 Route 52, Long Grove. Irish Vocal Duo: 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15, Ela Area Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich. Irish vocal duo Banna will perform. A donation of $3 is requested to benefit the Emmaus House, a local food rescue ministry to aid the homeless. It Can Be Done: Mondays and Tuesdays, Francesca's Intimo, 293 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Francesca's Intimo has agreed to donate 15 percent of patrons' bills to the nonprofit organization It Can Be Done! on Mondays and Tuesdays if the customer mentions the organization to a restaurant employee. The proceeds will benefit the purchasing of a drill to construct wells throughout the 12 villages of Uru on Mount Kilimanjaro, providing the 30,000 people living there with freshwater.
