Valentine Dinner/Dance: On Saturday, Feb. 14, Annunciation of Our Lady Episcopal Church, 5725 Stearns School Road, Gurnee, will be hosting a fully catered Valentine dinner dance from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Each table will have champagne, flowers and chocolates. Clothes for the needy: Clothing in sizes ranging from infant to size 16 boys and girls is available the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Episcopal Church's "Elijah's Mantle for Children in Need" community service project, located at 31 Park Ave., Grayslake. Next dates are: Feb. 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12. There is no cost. Surviving this economy: St. Mary of the Annunciation at Fremont Center in Mundelein will host a panel presentation, "Surviving the Current Economic Crisis," from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the meeting rooms in the main church at 22333 W. Erhart Road, Mundelein. A panel of three experts in their field will share their thoughts and experience on how to cope in this time of crisis. Guests are welcome. Budget course: Faith Lutheran Church presents a one weekend seminar of the Good $ense Budget Course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22. Paczki Day: St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church will prepare for Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent by declaring Tuesday, Feb. 24, as Paczki Day to coincide with Shrove or "Fat" Tuesday. The church is taking orders and selling the doughnuts, which are filled with assorted fruit fillings and covered in assorted toppings: sugar, chocolate, vanilla or plain. Paczki Day also is being celebrated by St. Ignatius Episcopal Church and St. Stephen Lutheran churches, both in Antioch. Paczkis cost 75 cents each, $4.50 for a half-dozen or $8 per dozen.
