Metzger leads Grayslake Central past Grayslake North
Grayslake Central's girls basketball team made it a sweep of its crosstown rival.
Alison Metzger scored a season-high 16 points, as the host Rams defeated Grayslake North 60-45 Tuesday night in Fox Valley Fox Division action.
Grayslake Central (14-11, 5-4), which beat Grayslake North (6-20, 1-7) by a 39-26 score on Jan. 23, also received 13 points from Megan LeBaron and 12 from Skyler Jessop.
Grayslake North's Lauren Erickson led all scorers with 20 points and also had 8 rebounds. Katie McGrath added 12 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals for the Knights.
Stevenson 40, Grant 33: The Patriots snapped a six-game losing streak in the North Suburban crossover.
Anna Morrissey had 12 points for Stevenson (11-16).
Heather Chapman scored 12 points for Grant (15-12).
Warren 45, Wauconda 30: Joree Green scored 11 points, and Morgan Garrett added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils in the North Suburban crossover.
D'Anequa Taylor chipped in 7 points and 5 steals for Warren (12-16).
Wauconda (19-5), which suffered its second straight loss, got 12 points and 12 rebounds from Lauren Mead. Kate Martino had 9 points, 4 steals and 3 rebounds.
Libertyville 59, Antioch 42: Kristy Williams' 18 points led the Wildcats, who captured their seventh straight win.
Savannah Trees added 11 for Libertyville (19-9).
Lindsey Gofron had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals for Antioch (12-13). Katrina Holm had 9 points on a trio of 3-pointers.
Zion-Benton 65, Vernon Hills 48: The Cougars saw their five-game winning streak snapped, despite Mallory Feece's 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
Jessica Schwartz had 13 points and 6 rebounds for Vernon Hills (14-14).
Carmel 48, St. Ignatius 39: Tiffany Hendrickson scored 14 points for the Corsairs, who won their fifth in a row.
Carmel (18-9) also received 10 points apiece from Jenna Korte and Lauren Lehocky.
Women's basketball
McHenry County 65, Lake County 64 (OT): Megan Wozniak had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Lancers in their overtime loss.
Heather Ruetsche added 12 points for College of Lake County (10-17, 5-6 Skyway Conference).
