Brust's 40 lift Mundelein

Mundelein 78, CL South 67: At Jacobs, the Mustangs made it two straight wins in the holiday tournament.

Ben Brust poured in 40 points to lead Mundelein (6-7, 2-1), which snapped a four-game losing streak on Monday by beating Crystal Lake Central at Jacobs.

Against South, the Mustangs also received 14 points from Kevin Barber. Ryan Sawvell had a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Mundelein next plays Bartlett at 3 p.m. Friday at Jacobs.

Naperville Central 55, Libertyville 48: At Wheeling, Northwestern-bound Drew Crawford scored 31 points, as the Redhawks rallied from a 31-26 deficit after three quarters.

Jeremy Letchford had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocked shots for Libertyville, which will play St. Viator at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Stevenson 59, Niles North 38: At Wheeling, the Patriots rebounded from their Day 1 loss, as Jeff Arenson scored 17 points.

Nate Johnson added 13 points and 11 rebounds for Stevenson, while Henry Wood chipped in 10 points and 8 boards. Jeff Levitt had 8 points, 7 assists, 7 steals and 5 rebounds for the Patriots, who face Vernon Hills at 12:15 p.m. Friday.

Northridge Prep 61, Lakes 45: At Grant, the Knights and Eagles were tied 22-22 at halftime. The Knights then used several 3-point baskets and some Eagle mishaps to take a 10-point lead heading into the fourth. Lakes would never threaten again.

Lakes (2-7, 1-1) was led by John Androus with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Mike Scott had 8 points and 4 boards.

Lakes resumes the tournament at 3 p.m. Friday against Northtown Academy.

McHenry 61, Round Lake 52: At Grant, 6-foot-2 sophomore Jake Paulsen scored a game-high 19 points for the Panthers in their loss.

Round Lake (0-9, 0-2) also got 15 points from David Windham and 12 from Jon Martinez. The Panthers resume the tourney Friday at 5 p.m. against Richmond-Burton.

Grant 50, Richmond-Burton 47: At Grant, the host Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in their own tournament, as Gilbert Sheehan scored 17 points.

Grant (7-3) also got 14 points from Garrett Olsen and 12 from AJ Spohr.

Grant hosts McHenry at 7 p.m. Friday.
