Clearbrook Evening of Shopping: 5:30-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, Crate & Barrel store, Deer Park Town Center mall, Deer Park. Crate & Barrel will donate 10 percent of the evening's sales to Clearbrook. While shopping, guests will be treated to wine and appetizers. Attendees can also choose to give a gift for use in one of Clearbrook's group homes. To register, send a $35 donation to Clearbrook and receive a $25 Crate & Barrel Shop Card. Those unable to attend may shop with their cards on another day. All Creatures Fundraiser: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, All Creatures Animal Hospital, 1210 Rte. 22, Lake Zurich: All Creatures Animal Hospital will sponsor a holiday fundraiser for Canine Cancer Campaign and Fremont Township Food pantry. Gingerbread house workshop: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 6 at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart, 760 E. Westleigh Road, Lake Forest. Woodlands Academy will host its seventh annual gingerbread house workshop. In addition to receiving the treats to make a gingerbread house, enjoy a visit with Santa. Pets can have pictures taken with "Santa Paws" and his elf Ziggy for a $10 donation, which will go to benefit the medical fund for Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue. No appointments needed. Donate to the Children's Christmas Party: Event takes place Sunday, Dec. 7, at Camp Duncan YMCA in Ingleside. The Fox Lake-Round Lake Rotary Club will host their annual George Watson Memorial Children's Christmas Party. More than 400 needy children will be treated to lunch with Santa and warm gloves, hats, boots and underwear plus toys, and a candy buffet. Donations are accepted; 100 percent of all donations go directly to the goods purchased for the children. Holiday house walk: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. The Riverside Foundation Auxiliary will host its annual holiday house walk, "Take a Walk Down Candy Cane Lane." Following the tour of four area homes, attendees are invited to gather at the Lincolnshire Swim Club for dessert and beverages, a holiday boutique and a raffle. New this year is a holiday giving tree, which features ornaments made by Riverside residents and provides an opportunity for attendees to make additional donations. Tickets cost $35. Raffle tickets are $2 each. Advance reservations are required. An assortment of small and large cases of oranges, grapefruit, tangelos and juice oranges and combination assortments are avialable. Entertainment books: The Mundelein Community Women's Club is selling the 2009 Entertainment books.
