Lake County roundup: Grant, Grayslake N. get wins

Grant 55, Marian Central 51: At Johnsburg, Wayne Bosworth won in his debut as head coach of his high school alma mater.

Gilbert Sheehan scored 15 points and Shane Richardson added 13 to lead Grant, which also got 10 points (two 3-pointers) from A.J. Spohr.

The game was tied 34-34 after three quarters, before the Bulldogs outscored the Hurricanes 21-17 in the fourth.

Grayslake N. 57, Wauconda 42: At Richmond-Burton, Grant Henricksen scored 15 points and Matt Pucher added 11, as the Knights won the season opener for both teams.

Wauconda was led in scoring by Matt Stonis with 15 points. Bradon Prate chipped in 11.

Holy Trinity 59, Lakes 54: At Buffalo Grove, the Eagles fell behind 26-13 after one quarter and never fully recovered in their season opener, despite getting within four points late in the fourth quarter on a steal and bucket by Justin Hotle.

John Androus led the way for Lakes with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks. Hotle added 12 points and 9 boards, while Marcell Kirkmanbey had 4 points and 9 rebounds.

Lakes guard Chris Boehm was injured early in the game and never returned.
