Nov. 29

Kids fun while parents shop: Mundelein High School's student leadership organization will provide organized activities for children on Saturday, Nov. 29, so parents can spend the evening doing holiday shopping or an evening to themselves. Available for children ages 4 and up, the service will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. for $5 per child. All proceeds will benefit the school's Adopt-a-Family charity. Student leadership will offer activities such as basketball, soccer, dancing, cheerleading, crafts and games. Reservations must be made by Nov. 25. The Lindenhurst Park District Community Holiday Tree Lighting will include Santa escorted by the Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Department, cookies and juice, crafts for kids, Jason the Juggler and performances by the Lindenhurst Park District Engle Junction Preschool and the park district's Dance Program.
