Indian Trails Veterans Day: 11 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Nov. 11, Indian Trails Public Library, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling. Learn the history of Veterans Day. A member of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will appear. The library will be presented a congratulatory certificate and a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol Building. Gowns For Military Brides: Tuesday, Nov. 11, Volle's Bridal & Boutique, 53 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich. The store will be joining Brides Across America and giving away 50 gowns to military brides-to-be. To qualify, brides must be engaged, be on active duty in the military or have a fiancé on active duty in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Buffalo Grove Veterans Day Celebration: Refreshments start at 12:15 p.m., ceremony starts at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 West Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove. The village of Buffalo Grove will honor veterans, their families and friends. Singer Heather Braoudakis will perform patriotic songs and there will be free refreshments from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Program will include a presentation of the colors, speeches, a Service Flag Ceremony, music by the Brass Quintet from the United States Navy Band - Great Lakes and more. Lindenhurst Veterans Day ceremonies: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, Lindenhurst Veterans Memorial, at the entrance to Lindenhurst Village Hall, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road. Ceremonies will include the U.S. Army Color Guard, the Lakes High School Band, and the Lakes High School contest winners. The keynote speaker will be Col. Charles S. Performing arts workshops: Improv Playhouse offers year round programming for children's performing arts workshops for beginners to advanced students taught by entertainment business professionals, actors and educators. New terms resume in late October and early November for commercial voice-over, on-camera acting for TV and film, improv comedy, fashion modeling and scene study.
