Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago invites those who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide to participate in its Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide Program from 7 to 9 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14, at Holy Family Church Counseling Center, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness, and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 13 and Dec. 18, at Carmel High School, 1 Carmel Parkway, Mundelein.
Church of the Holy Apostles in Wauconda: The church in Wauconda invites all to the Annual Silent and Live Auctions, Dinner and Dance Friday, Nov. 14, at Mill Creek Banquets, 333 W. Mill St. in Wauconda. Doors will open at 6 p.m. The evening will start out with hors d'oeuvres, time to shop the silent auction items, a seven-course, sit-down dinner at 7:30 p.m., followed by a live auction, and dancing until midnight. Child care with a grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and senior financial consultant Richard Drews of Libertyville is providing "Back to Work," a program where a parent can receive child care at no cost while they go on a job interview and "We Care," a program where a parents can receive child care at no cost while meeting their special medical treatment needs. Celebration! Child care will provide a maximum of five, three-hour child-care sessions so parents may go on a job interview or meet medical needs. Parents need to enroll their child. St Joseph: Men are invited to join a pilgrimage to Italy. Eight places are open for a pilgrimage to Italy Feb. 2-11, 2009. The cost is $3,108 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes travel in Rome, Assisi, Siena and Florence.
