Fox Valley Dog Training Club: 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, Kane County Fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. 57th annual Obedience Trial and second annual Rally Trial. Wild Turkey Discussion: 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at a home just north of Libertyville. Liberty Prairie Conservancy will host a discussion of "Illumination in the Flatwoods: A Season with the Wild Turkey" by Joe Hutto, about a wildlife artist's six-month stay a brood of young turkeys in Florida. Golden Paw Gala: 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Radisson Hotel, 2875 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook. Gala to benefit the animals at Heartland Animal Shelter. Includes a silent auction, food stations, Champagne toast and activities for well-behaved dogs.
