Lake Co. fundraisers

Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.

Nov. 1

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Gala: 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, Arlington Park Racetrack, 2200 W Euclid Ave Arlington Heights. The Greater Illinois Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Roses Gala fundraising event. Enjoy a buffet, martini bar, dancing to live entertainment, and live and silent auctions. Nov. 2

Pancake breakfast: 8 a.m. to Noon, Sunday, Nov. 2, VFW, 130 E. Grand Ave. Lake Villa. Lake Villa Township Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. All-you-can-eat pancakes, French toast, sausage links, coffee, juice, milk. $6 per person donation; free for kids 6 years and under.

Nov. 6

Friends Books and Baubles Sale: 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 6-7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, Fox River Grove Memorial Library, 407 Lincoln Ave., Fox River Grove. Nov. 7

Mustang Madness: Nov. 7 at Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington. Spencer Loomis PTO is hosting its first adult dinner dance fund-raiser to help fund the newly proposed technology initiatives for classrooms along with the other educational enhancements. Current parents and parents of Spencer Loomis alumni are invited to attend. Tickets cost $75 each and include dinner and three hours of open bar, raffles, silent and live auctions, and DJ and dancing. Nov. 8

Grant gala: 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at Maravela's Banquet Hall in Fox Lake. Grant High School is hosting its 14th annual gala dinner dance gala, which helps raise funds to assist financially needy students, enhance classroom technology and provide scholarships for academically talented students. Condell Medical Center Gala: 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, Nov. 8, Westin Chicago North Shore, 601 N. Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling. "The Best Is Yet to Come" 17th Annual Benefit Gala. Tickets are $250. Super Jake Heroes Bash: 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 8 at Hilton Northbrook, 2855 N. Milwaukee Ave. The fourth annual Super Jake and Friends Heroes Bash will benefit the Super Jake Foundation in honor of Jake Widman, who died in 2005 after his battle with neuroblastoma, a form of pediatric cancer. His family formed the non-profit organization to fund and find a cure. Guests are invited to wear their favorite superhero costume in honor of Jake at this event. Black and white dinner dance: Nov. 8 at Crowne Plaza North Shore on routes 83 and 45, Mundelein. Silent auction begins at 6:30 p.m., and live auction begins at 8 p.m. This is an annual dinner dance and auction that raises money for Santa Maria del Popolo School in Mundelein. The $70 per person price includes dinner, open bar, dancing and the opportunity to bid on over 250 live and silent auction items. Holiday Bazaar: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, Mechanics Grove School, 1200 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. Features crafters and home-based vendors, a raffle, bake sale and refreshments. SEDOL Foundation Wine Experience: 6:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, Ivanhoe Club, 28846 N. Thorngate Drive, Ivanhoe. Features a sampling of wines from all over the world, as well as a Champagne bar, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, and chocolates from Ethel's Chocolate Lounge. Tickets are $85 per person. All proceeds go to provide Lake County special needs children with custom educational programs, vocational resources and social opportunities. Auction, Dinner and Dance: 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, Mill Creek Banquets, 333 W. Mill St., Wauconda. Annual Auction, Dinner, and Dance sponsored by Church of the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church of Wauconda. Begins with a cash bar, appetizers, a silent auction. Golden Paw Gala: 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Radisson Hotel, 2875 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook. Gala to benefit the animals at Heartland Animal Shelter. Includes a silent auction, food stations, Champagne toast and activities for well-behaved dogs. The Gift That Gives: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Antioch United Methodist Church, 848 Main St., Antioch. Features items from around the world, including gifts, jewelry and home decor by third world artisans from Ten Thousand Villages; handmade Appalachian crafts from Red Bird Mission in Kentucky; natural soaps and spa products from The Enterprising Kitchen and Fair Trade coffee, cocoa, tea and chocolate.
