Oct. 29

Highland Park Hadassah: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at a member's home in Deerfield. The Highland Park Group of Hadassah North Shore Chapter will host a luncheon with the program "Building Bridges: the China/Judaic Connection." A minimum donation of $5 is required. Beginning Belly Dance: 6:45-7:45 p.m. or 7:50-8:50 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 30 to Dec. 11 (no class Nov. 27), The Grayslake Park District Rec Center, 240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake. For adult women ages 16 and up. No previous dance experience necessary. Intermediate Belly Dance: 9-10 p.m., Thursdays, Oct. 30 to Dec. 11 (no class Nov. 27), Grayslake Park District Rec Center, 240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake. Ages 16 and up will learn an entire dance each session and will begin using finger cymbals At least 2 recent sessions of prior belly dance classes or consent of the instructor. Begins with registration and lunch, games start at 12:30 p.m. Come alone or bring a foursome. The cost is $30; proceeds benefit Stem Cell Research at Hadassah Hospital. Shoreline Dance Club: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Couples can review basic tango steps and learn new ones. Lessons are followed by an evening of social dancing. Admission per couple is $20 for members and $25 for guests. Membership per couple is $20 per year.
