Computer/electronics recycling: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at Motorola's Schaumburg facility at 1301 E. Algonquin Road. Motorola and Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County will hold their 10th annual cost-free computer/electronics recycling event. Residentially-generated equipment will be accepted (businesses, school districts and governmental institutions are prohibited from participation in the event, however they may attend). Pennies for PADS: Through Saturday, Oct. 25. Peace Lutheran Church of Lake Zurich is coordinating a communitywide project to raise money for Public Action to Deliver Shelter. Collection bottles can be found in churches, businesses and schools throughout the area and people are encouraged to drop in their spare change to help meet the needs of the homeless. Money will be collected throughout October and will be counted on Make a Difference Day, Oct. 25. For information, call the church office, at (847) 438-4400.

Holiday marketplace: Register by Nov. 1 to take part in the sale, which takes place 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, Isaac Fox Elementary School, 395 W. Cuba Road, Lake Zurich. Isaac Fox Elementary School PTO seeks Lake Zurich area businesses to take part in its second annual "Holiday Marketplace." The fee to join is $40. The event supports the school PTO. Electronics recycling: 8 a.m. to noon, the first Saturday of each month, Wauconda Township Highway Department, at 505 W. Bonner Road, Wauconda. All Wauconda Township residents are invited to bring in electronic recyclables. Items accepted include computers and computer components, video games, televisions, VCR/DVD players, cameras, radios and accessories, phones, and more. Help a child develop positive relationships with adults, share gardening knowledge in the vocational horticultural center, evaluate a student's Individual Education Plans and meet with the child's therapeutic team, work in the thrift store, or help in other ways.
