Lutheran Social Services, Des Plaines, named Wheaton resident Donna Barber vice president of human resources. Barber previously served as interim vice president of human resources.

Mount Prospect resident Michael E. Naranjo will assume the role of postmaster of the Mount Prospect Post Office at the end of March. Naranjo formerly served as postmaster in the Wilmette Post Office and has served as officer-in-charge in Mount Prospect since late 2007.

Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc., Rosemont, named 20-year commercial real estate veteran Brenda D. Sexton executive vice president in its office advisory group in Chicago.

The board of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine's medical publishing group, Rosemont, announced the selection of Dr. Edward M. Wojtys as editor in chief; Dr. George J. Davies as associate editor, physical therapy section; Dr. Matthew Gammons as associate editor, primary care section; and Dr. Riann Palmeri-Smith as associate editor, athletic training section; to be the founding editors of "Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach," a bimonthly publication being launched in January, aimed at physicians and allied health professionals who work with athletes.

Debra Beaty, group manager of ready-to-wear and shoes for Bloomingdale's Midwest flagship store, was named general manager of Bloomingdale's Old Orchard in the Westfield Shopping Center, Skokie.

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc., consulting engineers, appointed Joel Koenig group manager of the water and wastewater unit in its Aurora office. Koenig, who joined the firm in 1991, will be responsible for staff oversight and assisting project managers with client relations on municipal and infrastructure projects.

Elmhurst native and Burr Ridge resident Scott Magnesen was promoted to managing director in the global wealth management group of Morgan Stanley in Oak Brook.

KJWW Consultants, Naperville, announced that Alyssa Fee of Lisle, Heather Heidenreich of Montgomery and Karl Pennings of Naperville have been named senior engineers. Additionally, Sean Perkins of Aurora was promoted to electrical designer.

Lisle resident June Courtney was named executive vice president of commercial banking at Old Second National Bank, to focus on the growing commercial lending practice and all products and services for the bank.

With 13 years of financial services industry experience, Peter A. Paolilli of Naperville joined Northern Trust, Naperville, as a vice president and private banker. Paolilli joins Northern Trust from LaSalle Bank, where he most recently served as a vice president and commercial real estate banker.

JSH&A Public Relations, Oakbrook Terrace, promoted Cheryl Georgas of Woodridge to senior account supervisor, to focus on the continued development of strategic marketing communication initiatives.

Hinsdale resident Thomas G. Kafkes joined Stage Development Co. LLC, Chicago, as chief development officer, responsible for management of all current development projects, identifying new development projects and third-party fee opportunities. Most recently, Kafkes served as vice president of development services with a large, Chicago-based real estate development firm.

Oak Brook-based McDonnell Investment Management hired 18-year Wall Street veteran Michael Herzig as managing director of its newly established New York office.

The Elburn Chamber of Commerce presented Leslie Flint with its 2008 Chamber Member of the Year award. Flint was recognized for her role as vice president of marketing, work as chairman of Day in the Park and for her assistance with chamber events.

Dr. Jon E. Christofersen of Batavia was re-elected to an eighth term as chairman of the Dreyer Medical Clinic physician group board of directors. Also serving as board officers are: Dr. Jon R. Dreyer Medical Clinic hospitalist Dr. Basil S. Hernandez was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Hernandez, who joined Dreyer in 2006, is a member of the American Medical Association and the Autism Society of America.

Trustmark Mutual Holding Co., Lake Forest, promoted Karen Preusker of Libertyville to vice president, finance, medical divisions. Additionally, Roger Schultz of Green Oaks was named to the new position of vice president, product development, medical divisions.

With an extensive background in sales and the health-care industry, Bob Kondraske was named chief operating officer at Bannockburn-based Omron Healthcare Inc. Kondraske previously served as vice president of sales development at McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a Pennsylvania-based subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

Wildwood resident Karen Belk was promoted to general manager of Best Courier and Delivery Service, At Once Delivery Systems and a recent acquisition, TransLogistic Service. Belk, who has worked for the Libertyville company since 1996, will be in charge of the daily operations and future success of the company.

Country Insurance and Financial Services agents Bobbie Boston of Geneva and Mark Coon of Lake Villa have earned positions on Country's distinguished all-American team.

Terry Cicero, a certified public accountant and tax and financial adviser with DiGiovine Hnilo Jordan + Johnson Ltd., Naperville and St. Charles, earned the certified financial planner certification administered by the Certified Financial Planner Board.

Lance Ramella, principal, and Mary Lisa Wahlfeldt, managing director, will head the new Downers Grove officer of Meyers Builder Advisors, a California-based real estate consulting and advisory firm.
