X-Tek offers game-changing IT support
CRYSTAL LAKE - A Crystal Lake-based tech firm now is offering locally based, 24/7 IT support, helping to ensure that employees of subscribing businesses experience minimal computer downtime, no matter when trouble strikes.
"You may have people who start working early or who work after hours or on weekends," said Justin Arendt, who, along with George Trevino Jr., founded X-Tek in late 2014. "We offer fast, reliable, affordable support any time of day or night."
Subscribers pay a customized monthly or annual fee that is based on the number of computers, computer operators and their functions within the business. An on-site visit is conducted to evaluate needs. Those paying on an annual basis receive a discount, Arendt said. Nonprofits also receive a discount.
Service recipients like Lori Grana of Insurance Benefits Resource Group have praised X-Tek's new offering. "I used your help desk service over the weekend. I was getting verbal adware warnings," Grana wrote in a late April email. "They took care of it. It worked well. Thanks!"
Virus pop-ups, connectivity issues, password resets or software malfunctions are among examples of support-desk expertise. Security services are included, and customers experience little to no wait times, Arendt said.
"PC's and Macs have security update protocols that you won't have to manage anymore," Arendt said. "This is like having an insurance policy. It's peace of mind, plus you have a fixed IT cost with no surprises."
Efficiency also is improved, as workers experiencing computer problems won't have to go through the boss to seek IT help approval. Once the contract is in place, help is at the ready any time of day or night, any day of the week.
X-Tek is located at 650 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Suite 108. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
