Lynda Chott named regional vice president of American Cancer Society

Lynda M. Chott of Chicago has accepted the role of vice president of Distinguished Partners for the North Central Region of the American Cancer Society.

In this regional leadership position, Chott will develop and execute regional and national strategy in corporate account management, distinguished events, and major gifts. She will also lead a team of professionals to engage individuals, corporations, and foundations in partnering with the ACS to raise more than $23 million through the events, corporate, and major gifts portfolio.

Chott most recently served as senior director of Distinguished Events for the North Central Region of the American Cancer Society. In this role, she led a team of 20 staff responsible for executing a $9.5 million distinguished events portfolio, including the record-breaking $6 million Chicago Discovery Ball in 2017, named as #1 benefit in Chicago for 2017 by BizBash.

Prior to joining the American Cancer Society in 2015, Chott held numerous leadership positions with other national nonprofit and health organizations including, but not limited to, YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County, the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the American Bar Association.

She earned an undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and a graduate degree from University of Illinois.

The American Cancer Society North Central Region includes Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia. Chott is based in the Chicago office of the American Cancer Society and her appointment is effective immediately.
