Twisted Rose restaurant to raise money for Algonquin flood victims July 27-30

The Algonquin restaurant and sports bar Twisted Rose, 1130 S. Main St., is holding a four-day fundraiser from July 27-30 to benefit the victims of Algonquin's recent flooding.

In Algonquin, the Fox River hit a record, cresting at 13.15 feet, with the flooding resulting in severe damage, as well as the annual Algonquin Founders' Days being canceled for the first time in 57 years.

"Ten percent of all sales will go toward restoring Algonquin and helping our neighbors affected by the record flooding," said Debbie Natzke of Twisted Rose. "We are inviting the entire community to be a part of this monumental event and to give back to those in need."

The fundraiser will feature live music, games, dunk tanks, drink and food specials and lots of surprises. There is no cover charge. One hundred percent of raffle sales will be donated.

Twisted Rose recently held a grand reopening that included live music and the Scorched Earth Brewing Co. was on hand offering beer tasting. Twisted Rose served its renowned handmade meals that satisfied even the most ambitious eaters.
