13 students from Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin promoted to black belt or higher

Thirteen students from Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin were promoted to 1st Dan Black Belt or higher on Saturday, May 6, at the Huntley Park District.

The day began with the American Kyuki-Do Federation's Biannual Tournament of Champions. The Black Belt Promotion immediately followed. Promoting from Elgin were:

• 1st Dan - Ciello Bello, Paul Berg, Arath Gallardo, Julio Gallardo, Hanna Garcia, Molly Rimm and Joshua Tompschin;

• 2nd Dan - Kadin Kaiser, Nikolas Kaiser, Tina Tomschin and Antonio Vasquez;

• 3rd Dan - Tim Parcel and Noel Parcel.

"This day is the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication" explained Master Jeff Kim, owner of the academy. "Many of these students worked late and on Sundays to present their personal best to the Promotion Board."
