Celebrate the miracle of Christmas with St. Catherine of Siena parish
The faithful are welcome to the preparation and celebration of the miracle of the Christ child's birth and the New Year's Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee and St. Mary in Gilberts.
"By centering on Christ, let us strengthen our families, parish and community by gathering together this Christmas for the peace and tranquillity of Confession and Holy Mass," said Father Matthew DeBlock, pastor, St. Catherine of Siena Church.
In preparation of Christmas, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) be offered at St. Catherine of Siena Church following its regular schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 7:50 a.m.; Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.; Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until finished and 3:15 to 4 p.m.; and at St. Mary, Gilberts on Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Mass schedules for St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee are:
On Christmas Eve Dec. 24, the Vigil of Christmas will begin with the 4 p.m. Mass, with an adult choir concert at 3:45 p.m., a 6 p.m. Mass, with music prelude at 5:45 p.m., and midnight Mass (with incense), with music prelude at 11:30 p.m. There will be no 8 a.m. Mass.
On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, the Nativity of the Lord will begin with the 9:30 a.m. Mass, with music prelude at 9:15 a.m., and an 11:30 a.m. Mass, with music prelude at 11:15 a.m. There will be no 7:30 a.m. Mass.
The Feast of the Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God - Holy Day of Obligation will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, and 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, at St. Catherine of Siena Church.
The Mass schedules for Christmas Day and New Year's Day for St. Mary, Gilberts will be the Nativity of the Lord-Christmas Day with the 9 a.m. Mass with incense, and the Feast of the Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God - Holy Day of Obligation on Thursday, Jan. 1 with 9 a.m. Mass.
St. Catherine of Siena Church is at 845 W. Main St. in West Dundee. St. Mary is located at Matteson Street and Galligan Road in Gilberts.
