Albright Theatre Company will hold auditions for "The Mousetrap" by Agatha Christie at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 and Monday, Dec. 8, at the Batavia Government Center, 100 N. Island Ave. in Batavia. The Albright Theatre is located on the third floor.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Callbacks may be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, by invitation only.

A woman's murder in London is somehow connected with a group of strangers stranded during a snowstorm - one of whom is the murderer! A policeman no sooner arrives, when someone is killed. An investigation promptly begins and everyone is a suspect. Chalk up another superb intrigue for the foremost mystery writer of her time, Agatha Christie.

The casting will include five men (20s to 60s) and three women (20s to 70s)

• Mollie Ralston - Proprietor of Monkswell Manor and wife of Giles. She is very excited, but nervous for her and her husband's new business venture. (20s to 30s)

• Giles Ralston - Husband of Mollie who runs Monkswell Manor with his wife. He loves Mollie very much, and though he is excited about their new business venture, he does realize they are amateurs in the hotel business. (30s)

• Christopher Wren - Wren is a hyperactive young man who acts in a very peculiar manner. He is the first guest to arrive at the hotel. He admits he is running away from something, but refuses to say what. (mid 20s to 30s)

• Mrs. Boyle - A critical older woman who is pleased by nothing she observes. She is never happy about anything and has no problem making that perfectly clear. (60 to 75)

• Major Metcalf - Retired from the army, little is known about Major Metcalf. He is a nice gentleman who in many ways keeps to himself. (40 to 60)

• Miss Casewell - A strange, aloof, masculine woman who speaks offhandedly about the horrific experiences of her childhood. (30s to 40s)

• Mr. Paravicini - A man of unknown provenance who turns up claiming his car has overturned in a snowdrift. He appears to be foreign and artificially aged with makeup, or is he? A strange man who enjoys being the center of attention and playing jokes on others for his amusement.

• Detective Sergeant Trotter - A policeman who arrives in a snowstorm, saying he has come to protect the guests from the murderer. While appearing young, he does take his job quite seriously. (mid 20s to 30s)
