Stevenson steps it up at Conant

Stevenson proved to be the class of the girls swimming and diving field Saturday at Conant, winning each of three levels in a unique test of overall varsity depth.

The meet format allows for one entrant from each team in three heats of each event.

At the A level, featuring the top competitors, Stevenson finished with 97 points and the host Cougars were runner-up with 69, ahead of Hersey (58), Schaumburg (47), Crystal Lake co-op and South Elgin.

Stevenson also won the B level with 97 points, and the C level with 96.

Patriots A-level winners included Rebecca Hannon in the 200-meter free (2:13.13) and 100 fly (1:08.52), Riley Kirby in the 50 free (28.78), Shayna Salzman in the 100 free (1:02.65), Cheryl Xiang in the 400 free (4:30.23), and Ashlin Ruiz in the 100 back (1:11.36). Stevenson also managed to win each of the relays, across all levels.

Conant had A level winners in Allison Cicero in the 200 IM (2:29.66) and Leah Cejvan in the 100 breast (1:19.97).

Hersey had the top diving effort, as Hannah Bovino won A (374.95), Anne Johnson won B (310.50) and Megan Nocita was third in C (238.35). Huskies senior Lenna Fotos placed second in the A-level 50 free (29.09).
