HOLD: HEHS athletics

Another high school athletic season has come to a close. Now is the time to question the Hoffman Estates High School Athletic Department without fear of repercussions. I believe the athletic department does not respect the time and effort given of their student athletes.

In support I submit the following:

Item #1- At the end of the girls' volleyball season, the Daily Herald ran all the team and individual statistics from the Mid Suburban League. 11 of the 12 schools were reported and shown. However, Hoffman Estates High School was not included.

Item #2- Pictures of the student athletes have not been put up on the Wall of Fame for the last three years.

Item #3- When the Daily Herald had “Prep Sports Excellence” to recognize more than 700 student athletes from more than 70 high schools in the region, HEHS did not nominate any.

Item #4- Most recently, the coaches at HEHS voted my youngest child the recipient of the 'Rita Sansonetti Female Sportsmanship Award'. My daughter was not at the presentation and we, as proud parents, were not given the opportunity to see her receive it. She was not informed to attend prior to the event.

These are only a few of the problems I saw myself in recent years. How many other parents are also upset and frustrated over how their children are not given any respect and recognition for their hard work and dedication to athletics at Hoffman High?

Isn't it time to make changes and show someone cares for their kids?

Sincerely,

Edward Stoczynski
