Naperville North wins in 8th inning

Naperville North 11, Glenbard East 10:

Alex Garon led off the bottom of the eighth with a single and scored on an error to give the Huskies (9-5, 5-3) the DuPage Valley Conference victory. Naperville North trailed 9-3 at one point and needed 4 runs in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings. Nick Solak tripled, homered and drove in 4 runs. John Sagen homered and had 3 RBI. Yoanny Gonzalez went 3-for-4 and drove in 3 runs for Glenbard East (5-17, 1-9).

West Aurora 5, Wheaton North 4:

West Aurora's run in the top of the ninth inning handed the Falcons (14-3, 7-2) the DuPage Valley Conference loss. Jeff Harper homered and Tom Colletti had 2 RBI for Wheaton North.

Lake Park 5, Batavia 0:

The Lancers (14-4, 10-3) received 2 hits apiece from Anthony Gallina, Christian Taugner and Dom Romito in their Upstate Eight Conference victory. Eric Vatch homered and drove in 2 runs. Winning pitcher Christian Taugner scattered 4 hits and struck out nine.

Downers North 8, Glenbard West 1:

Raymond Greco went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and 3 RBI for the Trojans (13-3, 9-1) in their West Suburban Silver victory. Winning pitcher Troy Southard allowed 4 hits in a complete-game effort. Dennis Rudolph homered for Glenbard West (6-11, 4-9).

Hinsdale South 4, Shepard 0:

Eric Benson pitched a 1-hitter with 3 strikeouts and a walk as the Hornets (12-5) won the nonconference game. Mike Meyers drove in 2 runs.

Manteno 11, Lisle 6:

The Lions (9-5, 6-2) surrendered 8 runs in the top of the seventh inning of their Interstate Eight Conference loss. Cliff Krause and Adam Grego each had 2 hits while Grego and Alex Ventrella drove in 2 runs.
