Dundee-Crown handles Hampshire

Garrett Ryan went 3-for-3 and scored twice, Ryan Suwanski walked and drove in 3 runs and Zach Girard went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 runs as Dundee-Crown won a Fox Valley Conference crossover baseball game in Carpentersville Friday, 7-3 over Hampshire.

Junior Chase Bloch limited the Whip-Purs to 3 earned runs on 7 hits and 2 walks for Dundee-Crown (6-2, 3-1). He struck out 3 in 5innings.

Tyler Crater took the loss. The senior allowed 7 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits, walked 2 and struck out 6 in 5 innings. Mike Merchut and RJ Consigny each had 2 hits for Hampshire (3-4, 0-3).

Waubonsie Valley 7, Streamwood 6: The visiting Sabres rallied for 6 runs in the top of the seventh and had the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position with one out, but Waubonsie Valley recovered with a strikeout and a game-ending groundout to seal this Upstate Eight crossover in Aurora. Ramon Saldivar fueled the comeback with an RBI single and Jeff Weaver’s 2-run double pulled his team within a run. Chad Caminitti was the losing pitcher for Streamwood (1-6, 1-5). He was touched for 6 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 walks and struck out 2.
