Elk Grove tops Notre Dame
Elk Grove scored 3 runs in the first inning, got a quality start from David Camacho and a quality finish from reliever Alex Tinkoff to earn a 4-2 victory over host Notre Dame in nonconference play Wednesday.
Camacho pitched the first four innings and Tinkoff the last three; both allowed 1 run and Notre Dame managed just 3 hits.
Michael Anciulis doubled and drove in a run for the Grenadiers, who played errorless ball and hit safely seven times.
Glenbrook South 5, Barrington 2: Ryan Lidge and Mitch Pfieffer both doubled, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with visiting Glenbrook South in nonconference play.
