Schaumburg Christian hosts innovative school-wide open house

Countless numbers of people travel past the glass and brick building on Roselle road, between Schaumburg and Thacker. Yes, the one across from the golf course, but many aren't aware that behind the glass façade is a school. Schaumburg Christian School (SCS), a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church.

In an unprecedented move, the “Doors Are Open” for current and prospective families to take a closer look at the entire SCS campus on Friday, Feb. 1. SCS is located at 200 N. Roselle in Schaumburg.

During its first ever school-wide open house, guest can visit classrooms, view curriculum, meet staff and tour the campus for every grade from preschool through 12th grade.

"Our goal is to increase community awareness of the various strengths of Schaumburg Christian School and to encourage enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year," said SCS administrator, Jim Toth.

SCS consistently ranks in the top 10 percent on nationally administered achievement testing and offers exceptional preschool, Christian world view, caring teachers, excellent facilities, superior fine arts, competitive athletics, convenient child care, fully accredited, accelerated track (Grades 4–8), honors level course (High School), earn college credit through Advanced Placement courses.

On-going registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and is followed by an official welcome and presentation from Toth at 8:30 a.m. Explorations and tours run through 10:00 a.m.
