Barrington impresses in quad victory

In a quadrangular meet hosted by Barrington on Saturday, the Broncos proved to be the class of the field.

Barrington senior Jack Strauss won the 200-yard freestyle and 50 free and had legs on the winning 200 and 400 free relays as the Broncos won with 438.5 points.

Second place went to Madison West (Wis.) at 346, followed by Oak Park-River Forest (307.5) and Naperville North (298).

Strauss won the 50 in 22.36 and the 200 in 1:45.56.

Barrington senior Kyle Ujiye won the 100 fly in 51.25, and junior Connor Kobida took top honors in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.02).

Conant d. Lake Park: The Cougars picked up a nonconference dual victory with a 113-73 victory over visiting Lake Park.

Multiple individual winners for Conant included Jonathon Burke (200 IM, 400 free), Alex Shozda (100 fly, 50 free). The Cougars also won all three relays — the medley with Adrian Lisowski, Alex Karayanes, Zon Wang and Kyle Bradberry; the 200 free with Shozda, Martin Pozniak, Wang and Burke; and the 400 free with Burke, Kazuki Morita, Pozniak and Shozda.
