CASA to hold gala fundraiser March 3 at St. Charles’ Q Center

CASA Kane County’s annual Children’s Champion Celebration will take place Saturday, March 3, at the Q Center in St. Charles. This year’s theme is “Regal on the River.” CBS Chicago news anchor Bill Kurtis will be the emcee.

Guests will enjoy a grand raffle, jewelry raffle, silent and live auctions, formal dinner, complimentary professional photos and dancing to the music of Soda. This year’s co-chairs are Roly and Jackie Orama of Batavia. Honorary chairpersons are Dick and Arlene Hawks of Aurora. The Children’s Champion award recipients will be Ed and Carolyn Werneke of St. Charles.

Live auction items include: a trip to the Half Moon Resort in Jamaica; a luxury suite for 18 people at U.S. Cellular Field; tickets to see the Blackhawks with a behind-the-scenes private tour; 100 bottles of wine with a wine cabinet and humidor; a private pig roast for 30-50 people; private use of the Arcada Theatre; and golf for three and a member at Rich Harvest Farms.

Grand raffle prizes include $1,500 worth of gift certificates and wine to “Shop, Wine & Dine” in the Fox Valley, $1,000 worth of gas cards, a necklace from State Street Jewelers, an iPad with accessories, and $500 in Jewel gift cards. CASA Kane County is a nonprofit organization that trains and supervises Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in juvenile and probate court.
