Sleepy Hollow Elementary has new principal

Community Unit District 300 has added another name to its roster of new principals with the selection of Jason Lentz for post at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School.

Lentz, currently the assistant principal at Perry Elementary School in Carpentersville, will begin his new role July 1. He replaces Anastasia Epstein, who will return to the classroom in the fall.

A 10-year employee in the district, Lentz began his career as a school social worker at Perry, a news release said. He later became assistant principal and helped to implement Response to Interventions at the school.

He most recently served as Perry’s internal coach for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.

A news release from the district says Lentz also has served as a district mentor for social workers and psychologists and counselors. His extensive district-level experiences include serving on the Disciplinary Review, Bully Prevention and Transportation committees.

He joins three other new principals this summer: Ami Engel at Jacobs High School in Algonquin, Amanda Edwards at Liberty Elementary in Carpentersville and Joe Schumacher at Dundee Middle School in West Dundee.
