DuPage Forest Preserve District 2 Commissioner Joe Cantore is campaigning for a third term on having fulfilled promises made in his first run for the office.

But the Oakbrook Terrace Republican seems unconcerned with the appearances surrounding his acceptance of a $1,000 campaign donation from the commission's law firm, though he votes on the firm's contract.

Democratic challenger Hilary Denk of Downers Grove declines campaign donations from companies doing business with the district. She is even and consistent in her stances. Deck is endorsed.

The district covers parts of Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Lisle, Lombard, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park, Westmont and Woodridge.
