McHenry County Conservation Foundation to have $10K Giving Tuesday Challenge

Double your donating power!

Donations made to McHenry County Conservation Foundation on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29 through Dec. 2 will be doubled up to $10,000, thanks to a generous anonymous donor.

Qualifying gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar and support a 24-acre prairie restoration at Glacial Park Conservation Area in Ringwood.

Encompassing over 3,400 acres, Glacial Park is one of the largest contiguous areas of publicly preserved and managed landscapes in McHenry County.

This project will stabilize eroding stream banks along Nippersink Creek, improve water quality and expand flood storage capacity, while also supporting conservation of numerous threatened or endangered species, including the Blanding's turtle, monarch butterfly, and the rusty patched bumblebee.

Donations can be made online at tinyurl.com/mccfgivingtues.

McHenry County Conservation Foundation works to obtain grants and gifts in support of the work of the McHenry County Conservation District to help ensure McHenry County's public lands, water and wildlife are preserved to benefit our way of life and that of future generations.
