Wheaton's Gary United Methodist Church to host 'Prayer for Unity' service Jan. 20

On Thursday, Jan. 20, Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is hosting "The Global Week of Prayer For Christian Unity," an ecumenical service, at 7 p.m.
Pastors from around the Chicago area from different Christian churches, both Catholic and Protestant, will participate in the service.
The service will include prayers, scripture readings, stories, a sermon and music. The public is welcome to attend in person wearing masks or online at garychurch.org.
For more than 100 years, Christian communities throughout the world have observed this week of prayer for unity.
Traditionally the week of prayer is celebrated Jan. 18-25.
Gary Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, offers a 9 a.m. Sunday worship in the sanctuary, complete with Kids' Church, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org.
After the service, you can enjoy Sunday school for all ages, plus a coffee hour called "Special Blend."
