Christ Church: No masks needed at in-person services for fully vaccinated

Christ Church Oak Brook and Butterfield invites people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend services and other in-person activities mask-free.

The church, with locations at 501 Oak Brook Road in Oak Brook, and 2S361 Glen Park Road in Lombard, is asking people who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask out of care for themselves and their neighbors.

In a communication to the church community, Rev. Dr. Daniel Meyer, senior pastor, shared that church leadership had undergone deliberate discernment in announcing the updates to in-person protocols at both its campuses.

"This pandemic has been hard. We are muddling through the best we can. No set of protocols is going to appeal to everyone," Meyer said.

In addition to adjusting mask requirements, the church no longer requires advanced registration for worship services, except for children's programming, and will accommodate those wishing to exercise maximize caution with a mask-only Classic worship service at 11 a.m. Sundays at its Oak Brook campus.
