Light of Christ to host World Vision Global 6K May 22

Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Algonquin is hosting a World Vision Global 6K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 22.

The global water crisis affects millions of kids' and women's lives in the developing world. People without access to clean water have to walk an average of 6 kilometers (that's a little over 3.7 miles) every day to get dirty water for all their basic needs - cooking, cleaning, drinking.

The Global 6K will start and end at the church, and weave throughout the neighborhoods surrounding Light of Christ, 1700 Longmeadow Parkway. Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m.

A pizza lunch will be served immediately after the event for all participants.All ages and skill levels are welcome. Cost is $50 or $25 for youth under age 18. Sign up via locchurch.com/events/.
