Local mayors in DuPage County to deliver State of the City addresses

Learn about what's happening in your town as several local mayors in DuPage County are hosting their annual presentations on the state of their village or city.

Here is a selection of some of the upcoming presentations:

• Addison: The Addison Chamber of Commerce has slated the "2020 State of the Village" presentation with Mayor Rich Veenstra for Friday, Jan. 24. For more details, visit addisonchamber.org. The meeting also will feature the election of officers and directors for the chamber.

• Bloomingdale: Join the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce for the annual "State of the Village" luncheon, provided by Bloomingdale Village President Franco Coladipietro. It will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Bloomingdale Golf Club, 181 Glen Ellyn Road. The mayor will share an overview of recent developments and pending improvements happening in and around Bloomingdale. This event is a way to learn about the goings-on and meet many of the community leaders and other business professionals. It is always one of the most popular luncheons of the year.

In addition to hearing the latest village update, there will also be a mini-expo of several of the chamber's premium partners who will have tables and displays set up to provide you with information.

• Join the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce for the "2020 State of the Village Luncheon & Address" on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive. Registration opens at 11 a.m. with the program beginning at noon.

Mayor Roger C. Claar serves as the keynote speaker. Mix it up with local, regional, statewide, and national business and civic leaders. Register today to secure your seat as this event does sell out. Tickets are $80 or $70 for chamber members. To register, visit www.bolingbrookchamber.org.

• Elmhurst: Mayor Steve Morley will deliver his annual "State of Our City" mayoral address at the Elmhurst Chamber's membership breakfast sponsored by Community Bank of Elmhurst. It will be 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 W. Butterfield Road. Registration is required. The event is free, but seating is limited to 150. • The village of Hanover Park will host its annual "State of the Village Address" with Mayor Rodney Craig at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the village hall, 2121 W. Lake St. To RSVP, contact skrauser@hpil.org or (630) 823-5609.

• Lisle: Village President Christopher Pecak will deliver the annual "State of the Village" at the Lisle Chamber of Commerce's general membership luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Sheraton Lisle, 3000 Warrenville Road. • Naperville: The popular "State of the City" address given by Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico will be on Monday, March 16. The mayor will deliver an informative review of his past year in office. You are encouraged to make your reservation as early as possible. The State of the City address will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Chicago-Naperville, 1823 Abriter Court.

Due to the popularity of this luncheon, early registration is highly recommended. There will not be walk-in registration available.

• Wheaton: Mayor Philip J. Suess will deliver the 2020 State of the City Address with the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Le Jardin at Cantigny Park & Golf, 1S151 S. Winfield Road in Wheaton. The event is sponsored by Northwestern Medicine and Cantigny. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon, followed by the presentation. • Woodridge: The village of Woodridge invites you to the "2020 Woodridge State of the Village" at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Woodridge Village Hall, 5 Plaza Drive. This event is an opportunity to network with village representatives and business owners before the presentation. The presentation will cover all the exciting developments in the village for 2019, and share a look ahead at the vision for 2020. Registration is free, and a light continental breakfast is available.
