McHenry County College student group to host 'Take Back the Night' April 25

McHenry County College will host "Take Back the Night," a domestic violence and sexual assault awareness event, sponsored by MCC's Student Peace Action Network from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Luecht Conference Center at MCC, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

The event will feature guest speakers Danielle Burley of Turning Point, Liv Harmening of the Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault and Katie Gaughan-Palombi J.D. of Domestic Violence Legal Clinic.

Other highlights include a march outside around the campus, and art and music presentations.

The event will culminate at a fire pit on the campus patio, where visitors are invited to write something they would like closure on and then throw into the fire.
